Gold Medal Classes
Gold Pitching
Tuesdays 5 – 6:45pm or Wednesdays 7:15 – 9pm
& Sat. 9:30 – 11:15am or 11:15 – 1pm
Tue. Nov. 29th, 2011 to Sun. Feb. 26th, 2012An in-depth program focused on increasing each player’s arm strength, velocity, deception and rotation of all pitches. Players will undergo intense strength training including J-Band (rubber tubing) routines, weighted ball circuits and progressive “long-toss” regiments that will prepare each pitcher to compete at a high level of varsity play. Development of lower half power through specific drills and functional strength exercises that focus on explosive torque while maintaining postural efficiency throughout the delivery. Increased core strength and agility through full body conditioning and resistance training for pitching specific muscles will allow players to pitch more innings and recover faster. Each player will be tested and measured with progress recorded weekly and evaluated using high speed video analysis. This high-intensity training regimen helps to provide each pitcher with the ability to maintain focus and remain in control of any situation on the mound!
Class sizes will be limited to 12 Pitchers per session to help instructors maintain an effective player to coach ratio. Players can choose either the early classes on Tue. & Sat. or the late classes on Wed. & Sat. Gold Hitting
Dec. 2011 – Feb. 2012
Tuesdays 7:15 – 9pm or Wednesdays 5 – 6:45pm
& Saturdays 2 – 3:45pm or Sundays 11:45 – 1:30pm
Tue. Nov. 29th, 2011 to Sun. Feb. 26th, 2012A comprehensive approach to hitting that allows players to form a consistent, repeatable swing, resulting in better contact at the plate, more power, and a higher batting average. Every Gold Hitting session will have a different point of emphasis for the hitters to focus on. Emphasis gradually shifts throughout the course of the 12-weeks from almost entirely physical at the beginning of the class to mostly mental toward the end of the 12 weeks.
Sessions focus not only on improving swing mechanics, but also on improving each hitter’s mental “approach” at the plate. In order to have success at the plate, hitters need to have a plan or an “approach” every time they step into the batters box. Mental aspects such as pitch identification and selection are highlighted, and advanced techniques are emphasized to promote better timing and a proper mental and physical approach at the plate.
Instructors work with hitters in small groups of 3 to 4 players on drills emphasizing that day’s particular point of emphasis. A mix of Tee Work, Soft Toss, and Live Hitting is incorporated into every session. Bat speed and swing path consistency will be measured and monitored through high speed video analysis.
Cost (Includes Wood Bat): Member - $795 Non-member - $850
